National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) certification is required to coach a MBA team. Mahtomedi Community Education sponsors this program. This requirement provides benefits to you and the MBA. As a NYSCA certified coach you have liability insurance coverage of $1,000.000 If you are already a certified coach (through the MBA or other sport) you must furnish proof of certification. For new coaches, the 90-minute mandatory training for this certification will be scheduled before the season starts. A background check is also completed as parts of the certification process. Note: MBA pays for the initial certification fee for new coaches or renewal fee for returning coaches. The training and background check are completed only once. Certification renewal is done annually
